Who We Are
Established in 2000, the Highland Foundation for Educational Excellence
is an independent, non-profit community organization that supports
enrichment programs in the Highland Local School District.
The Foundation is a separate entity from the Highland Board of Education.
All decisions are made with the input and direction of the Foundation’s
Board of Trustees. This Board is comprised of elected community members
who are dedicated to providing the leadership to implement those projects
that will benefit Highland students and the greater community at-large.
Our Mission
The mission of the Highland Foundation for Educational Excellence is to
acquire and distribute resources to Highland Local Schools to enhance,
enrich and supplement learning opportunities for its students, staff and
community. We achieve this through:
- Providing direct support for student development
- Encouraging staff excellence and creativity
- Promoting the school district as a center for community learning
- Helping build a strong school and community partnership
A History of Giving
Since inception, more than $580,000 has been provided for projects in
the form of grants to enhance the educational environment for Highland
students and staff. Examples include programs focused on the arts, music,
science and technology – all unique and vital enrichment opportunities

Highland Foundation through the generosity of caring individuals and
corporations in our community.
