When you support The Highland Foundation, you invest in your community.
Each year, The Highland Foundation funds supplemental learning experiences, scholarships, community outreach programs, classroom-specific tools and equipment. Experiences like these are only possible because of the support of donors like you.
Let's keep them amazed. Give your gift today.
AREAS OF IMPACT:
The Highland Foundation underwrites a diverse mix of educational programs and experiences each year and focuses on six core areas of need. These platforms help our students advance on many levels, both in and out of the classroom environment.
To acquire and distribute resources to the Highland Local Schools to supplement learning opportunities for its students, staff and community. We achieve this by providing direct support for student development, encouraging staff excellence and creativity, promoting the school district as a center for community learning, and helping to build a strong school partnership.
HOW DOES YOUR DONATION HELP?
You give every student the opportunity to thrive.
Not every student learns the same way or at the same pace. When counselors at Highland Middle School wanted to find a solution to help students with learning challenges overcome sensory issues, The Foundation funded the creation of a Sensory Room/Learning Center.
You create a love of reading.
Can three elementary schools come together to form a community book club? Absolutely! The Foundation’s “One District, One Book” program gifts every elementary student their own copy of a common book so every family can take part in a month-long reading celebration.
You bring the world to Highland.
The Foundation-funded Intercultural Program welcomes students from China, Spain and France to Highland to share their knowledge and culture with us, and also allows our students and staff the opportunity to study abroad.
You teach children to code.
Foundation grants provide the tools and instruction for several enrichment programs throughout the district that focus on increasing STEM-related skills and knowledge, such as the basics of coding.
You share music with the community.
From drumming to dancing to theatre performances and more...nearly every year, The Foundation brings regional and international musicians to our schools and community for local concerts and hands-on learning experiences.
You make college more attainable.
In addition to funding multiple scholarships, The Foundation invests in local resources to guide students and families on properly completing financial aid applications for colleges and universities.
